A community leisure centre could face closure after a council said it was no longer prepared to run it – despite public opposition to the loss of the swimming baths. Meden Sports Centre, in Warsop, near Mansfield, has a swimming pool and a gym and also runs workout classes throughout the week. The building, in Burns Lane, is owned by Nottinghamshire County Council but managed by Mansfield District Council under a joint agreement.
