Gritters will be out in force for the first time this year on Thursday night – as temperatures plummet after an unseasonably mild Christmas. Twenty three trucks will take to the roads from 8pm after a forecasted dry but bitterly cold night. And a blast of freezing Arctic air is expected to hit the county over the weekend.
