Around 4,000 staff at Sainsbury's will be affected by plans to axe the night shift at 140 branches, according to reports. Many risk having to take a pay cut or getting the chop under the store-based changes after the supermarket giant announced a shake-up.
It has been suggested that staff, many of whom restock the shelves, will be offered the chance to move to early morning or late evening shifts - but on less money.
