New tobacco laws will be coming into force later this year – and menthol cigarettes will be completely banned by 2020. Smokers will no longer be able to buy a packet of 10 cigarettes from May 21 this year, and menthol cigarettes are set to be phased out altogether in three years. A phasing out period began in May 2016 in a bid to deter younger people from smoking, and the ban will include roll-your-own tobacco and cigarettes.
