The MP for Newark has defended his decision to attend the inauguration of Donald Trump as the new US president. Earlier this week, Conservative politician Robert Jenrick confirmed he would be attending the ceremony. In a tweet, posted on Wednesday, Mr Jenrick said he would be meeting trade representative Bob Lighthizer. The 35-year-old received backlash from critics on Twitter, who said the trip was "horrifying" and "disgusting".
