An elderly man fought off an attacker who was armed with a knife. The assailant got out of a car which he had parked in a garage in Yew Tree Lane, Gedling, and approached the victim at about 7.15pm on Monday. He threatened the pensioner with a knife and demanded he handed over his car keys – but the elderly man fought back and the offender ran away.
