Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis McGugan is on a trial at the Reds' Championship rivals Cardiff City. The 28-year-old still has one year left on a contract at Sheffield Wednesday, but he wants to leave Hillsborough after being completely frozen out by Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal last season.
