Cold-callers have been targeting Nottinghamshire residents offering cheaper council tax in a bid to steal bank details. An alert has been issued by Ashfield District Council after a number of its council tax customers were called by scammers. The calls pretend to be from the authority or from a private company offering to lower the council tax banding of properties.
