A squirrel was electrocuted when climbing on cables at a Nottinghamshire retail park this morning – causing hundreds of homes and businesses to be plunged into darkness.At around 9.40am a power cut hit supplies in the Chilwell area, with some 655 customers off in the NG9 5, NG9 6, and NG9 3 postcodes.Western Power Distribution engineers worked to restore power, with supplies rerouted to 80 customers by 10.20am, and just three still without power by 12.15pm.Read more: Unsafe Notts takeaway.
