For more than a week the old paper £5 notes have been permanently replaced by polymer versions - but it seems some people are still trying to get rid of them. The deadline to use the old notes, featuring Elizabeth Fry, was nine days ago, but some shops are still having to refuse them.Sainsbury's Local on Wheeler Gate has had a number of customers try to use the old fiver to pay for their goods.
