GemmaToulson published Severn Trent Water's profits up

Water company Severn Trent, which supplies 7.7 million people with water, has reported an increase in profits. The group announced a half year underlying profit before interest and tax of £281 million, up 2.6 on the same period last year. Underlying basic earnings per share increased by 11.4 per cent to 58.6p, with the group's turnover decreasing very slightly, by 0.2 per cent, to £896.1 million.
