EllieCullen published M1 closed after man spotted on motorway carriageway

The M1 was briefly closed this afternoon after a man was spotted on the carriageway.Both the northbound and southbound carriageways were closed between junctions 25 and 26 for a short time due to the concern for safety.The man was believed to have been on foot between Trowell Services and the A610 junction at about 3.45pm.Read more: Sixteen-year-old missing from her Kirkby-in-Ashfield homeTraffic was held by police for his safety.A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said they weren't sure why.
