Excitement surrounds the arrival of two rare terns at Attenborough Nature Reserve this afternoon, Friday May 6. The whiskered terns are the first of their kind to have been spotted at the Reserve, and only the fourth ever recorded in Nottinghamshire.They were first spotted by birdwatchers in Derbyshire on the Windsurfing Pits near Long Eaton. It was only at around 2pm that they made their way across the county boundary into Nottinghamshire, and have been feeding over the waters of Coneries Pond.
