DanRussell published Man charged with historic rape offence

A Nottinghamshire man has been charged with a rape committed almost 26 years ago. Mark Carnelley, 51, of Ambleside, Gamston, is charged with a single count of rape of a 25-year-old woman in Bluecoat Close, Nottingham, at around 11.30pm on 14 September 1990. Following a fresh examination of evidence in the case in 2015, Carnelley was arrested in November and charged last month. He will appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Friday, April 29.
