Silverdale Community Centre has been given a major revamp after a week-long volunteering project by an East Midlands construction firm. A 100-strong team from Wates Construction and its supply chain donated about 5,000 man-hours to transform the exterior of the 50-year-old building, in the Silverdale estate's The Downs.
