Skills gaps are wider in the East Midlands than anywhere else in the UK, according to new research. The Employer Skills Survey found that 16 percent of companies in the region said staff were not fully skilled – higher than anywhere else in the country. Despite this, only 60 percent of workers received any training last year, compared with a 63 percent national average.
