Furious residents hope police will investigate a housing developer which cut down hundreds of trees during bird nesting season in "an act of environmental vandalism".Harworth Estates, behind plans for 150 homes off Spring Lane and next door to the new Gedling Country Park, has been criticised by the council and conservationists and if prosecuted could face fines of £5,000 for each nest lost.A condition of the planning permission says no trees, hedgerows shrubs or grassland should
