BenIreland published Christmas in jail for £8 Strongbow cider thief
A Sutton-in-Ashfield man spent Christmas in jail because he stole an £8 pack of Strongbow cider.Andrew James, 39, of St Michael's Street, stole the booze from the Co-Op store in Skegby Road, Annnesley Woodhouse in on September 7.He was bailed to attend Mansfield Police Station on October 28, but failed to show.A warrant for his arrest was issue and police picked him up on Christmas Eve.He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Boxing Day, where he pleaded guilty to theft and failing.
