Drinkers at a Beeston pub have hit out after plans to put a marquee outside were scuppered.The Crown Inn, in Church Street, wanted to put the 6m by 12m white marquee in the car park for pub-goers to use as shelter.But Broxtowe Borough Council said the marquee would "fail to preserve the character and appearance" of the conservation area and threw the plans out.Crown fan Stephen McCormack, 41, of Beeston, said he couldn't understand the council's decision.He said: "It's a strange..
