Newcastle declares 'climate emergency' amid protests against council's 'perverse' decisions

Dozens of campaigners from Save Newcastle Wildlife, the Green Party, Defend Dewley Hill and Extinction Rebellion gathered outside Newcastle Civic Centre on Wednesday evening
