The hero firefighter who died trying to save a life

More than 25 years after Sub Officer Paul Metcalf died trying to rescue a teenager from Hawkshaw's Simons Lodge, an FBU Red Plaque at Ramsbottom Fire Station honours the hero whose sacrifice transformed UK water safety.
