TomPegden published Melton Building Society mortgages and savings on the up

A county building society has reported a strong 2016, with an 8 per cent growth in mortgages and 10 per cent growth in savings.The Melton Group announced that it made a profit of £1.46 million last year, which was fractionally down, after advancing £76 million of new mortgages during the year.The group's total loans and advances grew 8 per cent to £339 million.It said mortgage arrears was also down by 22 per cent to £140,000, reflecting a group drive to improve credit...
