Zoos have existed for centuries, with the oldest recording of humans keeping wild and exotic animals dating back to 2500 BCE. The emergence of modern-day zoos started in the late 18th century when interest in zoology started to become popular. The oldest Zoo currently in the world is Tiergarten Schönbrunn, which opened in 1752 in Vienna, Austria.
