Nature Notes: A wet but rewarding afternoon

On a cool afternoon in early July, I'm in Richmond park where much-needed torrential rain is falling, a clear indication that Wimbledon tennis has begun! Not ideal conditions one would think for watching wildlife but it's surprising what can be seen with a little patience.
