Why this Croydon mum asked for her hand to be amputated

A Sanderstead woman who asked for an amputation has had her hand removed in order to receive a mind-reading bionic replacement. Nicky Wilding requested that her right hand be cut off at the wrist because it was getting in the way of her Paralympic ambitions. She is now striving to raise money for a state-of-the-art replacement which will make daily and sporting life much easier.
