Should Croydon Council have painted over 'subversive' posters?
Posters critical of council and police policy in Croydon have been painted over by the local authority. The posters in St George's Walk referenced the town's lack of culture and the police banning a High Street nightclub from playing certain types of music. They were put up by an anonymous designer along a stretch of the ageing shopping precinct used as a graffiti wall. The posters have now been obscured but the graffiti has not been removed.
