Man 'safe' after car is submerged in Croydon flash floods

A man appears to have dramatically escaped after he was seen swimming away from a car that was pulled under rising waters in Wallington. The man was seen swimming away from the car, in Manor Road, but eyewitnesses said he was safe and that he was assisted by officers from London Fire Brigade. London ambulance service said they checked over a man at the scene, but he didn't need to go to hospital.
