Rail services through Croydon are being heavily disrupted by broken rails between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport. Network Rail and Southern have announced that there are likely to be delays, cancellations and alterations in the area until at least 1pm due to the problem, which has forced the closure of at least one line near Purley. The problem is also affecting Thameslink and Gatwick Express trains.
