LOOKING BACK: Standing room only at Bolton library

Today's picture from our archives shows a group of newspaper readers stood reading the latest editions of the papers at Bolton Library in 1961. A request for the desks to be lowered so that old people and other readers who struggle to stand could read them while sitting down was rejected by the Libraries Committee.
