LOOKING BACK: Cannon on the move

Today's picture from our archives shows gunners of the 253 Field Regt RA, the Bolton Artillery, uploading an eight-ton cannon outside the Drill Hall's Bradshawgate entrance in 1955. The cannon was from the Firwood Hall Hotel in Bolton, where it had been rusting away for many years.
