DAY 6: Emily Jones murder trial
Emily Jones, aged 7, was killed in Queens Park, Bolton, on Mothers' Day, March 22. Eltiona Skana, aged 30, of Ernest Street, Bolton, used a craft knife to slit Emily's throat and her injury was not survivable. Skana denies murder but has admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. She has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. The prosecution claim that she is hiding behind the diagnosis and had planned to kill.
