East Lancashire sewer works needed its own 'aqueduct'

It may look at first glance like an unlikely stop for a picnic, but this photograph from July 1965 actually shows a surveyor unloading equipment from his car boot to check on the new bridge being built to carry the main sewer over the brook at Samlesbury to the nearby sewage works
