Delays on busy Blackburn route following crash

A crash at rush hour is causing delays for motorists heading into and out of Blackburn. The incident happened early this evening (Wednesday), close to Mire Ash Brow, Mellor. It appears one car has smashed into the back of another on Preston New Road, past Yew Tree Drive. It is unsure at this stage if anyone was injured. Drivers were experiencing delays in both directions. Update to follow
