Blackburn Boulevard during wartime was a busy place indeed

Blackburn Boulevard is the place in East Lancashire we get most requests from readers to show photos of. This one was taken in 1944 and shows just how busy it was with both buses and trams at their stops. In the background you can see the ornate tower of the former Lancashire Evening Telegraph building and on the right the chimney belonging to Dutton’s town centre brewery.
