Rep. Herbig announces bid for Maine Senate

Rep. Erin Herbig, D-Belfast, has put speculation about her political future to rest, announcing at the waterfront shop of French & Webb boatbuilders Jan. 2 that she will run for Maine Senate District 11. The four-term state representative and House Majority Leader has been eyed as a likely candidate to replace Sen. Mike Thibodeau - both legislators are facing term limits in 2018, and Thibodeau is running for governor. On Tuesday, Herbig made her Senate bid official.
