Lorde, Simone celebrated in Belfast

In honor of Black History Month and Women's History Month, the Peace and Justice Group of Waldo County will celebrate two incomparable artists, poet Audre Lorde and musician Nina Simone. The event, rescheduled from Feb. 15, is set for Wednesday, March 15, beginning 6 p.m. in the Abbott Room of Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. Local poet Barbaria Maria will read poems by Lorde who, in her own words, was a black lesbian mother warrior poet.
