VMware set sights on telco segment

VMware has set forward its ambitions to tackle the telco cloud segment, using its Cross-Cloud Architecture and software-defined infrastructure offerings to appeal to the digital transformation conscious.
The team has promoted Shekar Ayyar to the newly created position of EVP and GM of the Telco Group, though he will continue his current role leading VMware’s strategy and corporate business development activities. This is not the first time the VMware business has rumbled towards the telco
