Visit a restored railway signal box in St Albans
Next to St Albans City railway station is a brightly painted wooden building – a restored signal box that’s now occasionally open to the public.The signal box is the second on this location, and came into use in June 1892 as part of the Midland Railway into St Pancras station, and is classified by members of the Signalling Record Society as a Midland Railway ‘Type 2A’.
