Two years of rail strikes are over as ASLEF members accept pay rise

The worst of the national rail strikes are over as ASLEF members have voted to end their two-year pay dispute that has seen strikes affecting many of Englands train companies.The union predominantly represents the train drivers, and strikes by ASLEF members have been ongoing for over two years. These have disrupted train companies across England and affected cross-border services into Wales and Scotland.
The cause of the dispute has been contentious. The previous government said it was for the t
