Oxford Street pedestrianisation to start from late October

The date that road traffic will be banned from a large section of Oxford Street has been announced – as Monday 26th October 2026.From that date, almost a kilometre of Oxford Street will be pedestrianised, from Orchard Street to Great Portland Street. From then, buses, taxis, bikes and other vehicles will be diverted onto nearby roads, which will be monitored to ensure traffic moves effectively during the transition.
