London’s Alleys: Rex Place, W1

This royally named double passage can be found in posh Mayfair and is the sort of place where the first dozen  pages in Google are full of estate agent adverts for expensive houses.This part of London was first being laid out with a grid of streets in the 1740s, but it seems likely that Rex Place was not expected to exist, and was added later when the fields were filled in with houses.
