London tram driven the wrong way through Croydon town centre

Seeing a tram heading the wrong way through Croydon town centre might normally be a sign that something has gone very wrong. A few weeks ago, it was exactly what was supposed to happen.

The unusual sight was part of a planned test ahead of a partial closure of the London Trams network for engineering works next month. The engineering works will close the entire central section of the tram network, but to maintain reliable service, the
