London bus drivers call off strikes after winning air-conditioning pledge

Planned strikes by London bus drivers have been called off after Unite reached an agreement with Transport for London (TfL) and bus operators to install air conditioning in every driver’s cab by the end of May 2027.The deal follows a summer of heatwaves and a campaign by Unite the Union over conditions inside bus cabs, where the union says temperatures sometimes reached 50°C.
