HS2 completes first of two 5-mile tunnels under West London

HS2 has completed digging the first of two five-mile tunnels under west London, with the Tunnel Boring Machine completing its dig by arriving inside a giant foam-filled can. The Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), Sushila, set off from West Ruislip in October 2022 and arrived at a deep shaft dug near Greenford station yesterday (19th Dec 2024).
