From Capes to Comfort: Exhibition highlights the changing styles of nurses’ uniforms

The golden interior of a former hospital chapel is to be filled with an exhibition looking at the history of the uniforms worn by nurses who worked in hospitals.
The chapel will also be open at weekends, when it’s usually closed, giving people who haven’t visited it before a better chance to do so.The exhibition aims to show how the nurse’s attire evolved over time from its ecclesiastical and military roots, which often looked quite peculiar to modern eyes — to the modern
