Epping Ongar Railway buys a Rolls-Royce powered locomotive

The Epping Ongar heritage railway on the northeastern edge of London has acquired a Rolls-Royce powered locomotive. Before you get too excited about the allure of luxury travel, it dates back to the time when Rolls-Royce was making diesel engines for use in small locomotives and industrial vehicles.
What they’ve bought is a locomotive designed to work in an open-cast iron ore mine at Corby, which was later sold to London Transport in 1971 when the iron ore mine closed.
