An end in sight for the rail strikes as ASLEF recomends new pay deal
The national rail strikes could be over, as the ASLEF union is recommending that its members accept a pay deal offered by the Department for Transport (DfT).The union predominantly represents the train drivers, and strikes by ASLEF members have been running for over two years, disrupting train companies across England and affecting cross-border services into Wales and Scotland.
