Turkey vows to tackle ‘sea snot’ outbreak

Climate change and ineffective waste management have reportedly caused a sticky web of ‘sea snot’ in Turkey’s Sea of Marmara near Istanbul.
Sea snot or marine mucilage is grey-coloured sludge that is formed when algae blooms are overloaded with nutrients because of hot water and pollution.
