With a new controller, Microsoft just took a big shot at Facebook and Sony in the race for cheap virtual reality (MSFT)

This holiday season, Microsoft and Acer are teaming up for a $399 virtual reality bundle — containing Acer's $299 Windows 10-powered virtual reality headset, along with brand-new motion controllers made by Microsoft specifically to control VR apps and games.
