Co-op to hit 100% cage-free in continental pig supply chain

Co-op is set to become the first UK convenience retailer to meet 100% cage-free standards across its entire continental meat range by the end of the year, marking a major step forward in its animal welfare agenda.
The move means all of the convenience retailer’s Spanish, German and Italian continental lines, including Prosciutto, Parma Ham, Salami, Mortadella and Chorizo, will be sourced from pigs raised without confinement.
